Bucharest, 16 September

As we sat I noticed the sun reflecting on the little pond and I felt a Monet moment coming on. Instead of water lilies there were clumps of algae and leaves from the trees floating on the water. The gentle drops of rain were only the result of an aerator desperately trying to keep the water from stagnating. But you work with what you have. When I saw this on my camera's screen I was sure that I had rivaled the great French artist. Those tiny displays make many a mundane photo look sublime.
