When you're on the west side looking east, the desolation makes you feel like you could be on the moon. It's at this site—which was originally going to in be Carol Park—that the Romanian People's Salvation Cathedral is to be built. Hmmm, its name somehow seems familiar. The structure the communists built in Carol park was "Freedom of the People". The building seen in this photo was originally "Palace of the People". The cathedral will be the "People's Salvation". It's nice that the people are always taken so much into consideration!
