Getting out of Bulgaria and back on the bridge proved to be an interesting experience. Do you think they'd accept Romanian leu since the other side of the toll building was Romanian? No! We had to have Bulgarian lev and no plastic accepted. Luckily, in my travel pouch I had some spare lev from my trip to Balcic in 2008. It worked! We got out and after a long drive we looked down over the plain at the glowing city of Craiova.
